Tuesday July 1st, First Day on the Road!

Today was the last day of the Western States Youth Gathering in Thousand Oaks, CA as we said goodbye to the Martin Luther Statue at CLU (aka "Gumby").  Our farewell session concluded with a sending of peace for our epic journey of the rest of Choir Tour, shown by the crosses we blessed with one another.  We packed up the bus and hit the road for Mammoth, CA.  On our way, many of us participated in card games, reading, or singing along with the boom box. Sleeping, however, was one of our main priorities apparently!  It got very hot on our way over, and some of us got creative with ways to cool down. We also took some time to take a look at the mountains closer up to Mammoth, and boy were they beautiful! We ended the evening with a quick dinner near the church, wonderfully warm showers ( we were lucky enough to get to shower indoors), a cheerful P.L., a good old Sonburst Choir Tour practice, and our nightly devotions. We'd have to say it was a pretty great first travel day, and we're super excited for the adventures to come!
